Working with children with severe behavioural disorders requires a high level of understanding of the following theories:
- Family Systems
- Developmental Psychopathology
While there are a lot of programs that allow the clinician to provide basic treatment, these programs are typically overweighted with one of these theoretical perspectives. Skilled clinicians have learned what are the aspects of each of these approaches that are likely to work in individual cases and are able to comprehensively formulate in order to achieve the best outcome for each child and family.
This workshop will move from the theoretical to the applied, and aims to give participants the ability to move beyond the manual and into genuine formulation driven treatment with a focus on accumulating practice based evidence.
