Dr Aaron Frost
With over 15 years experience, Aaron has developed a real working knowledge of families, children and how problems develop. After completing his PhD looking at the causes of the most severe behavioural disorders in children, Aaron has gained experience in psychosis, anxiety, depression as well as behavioural disorders of children and young people. One of the areas he has become most fascinated by in recent years is resilience. Why is it that with all the odds stacked agasint them, some kids seem to do ok.
The literature on resilience has been poor and in many ways resilience itself is not even well defined. Too many groups of psychologists moving towards product based panaceas and not enough hard science. Aaron will look at the area of resilience, what we do know, what we don’t know while looking at the practical implications of this for clinicians and for parents. This workshop will be interactive and targeted at working clinicians, but non-professional parents are more than welcome.
