Referral process

Our Psychologists take private payment as well as providing psychological services for a range of third party payers, including:

  • Medicare (Better Access Scheme, as well as Enhanced Primary Care)
  • Private Health Insurance

Please call our reception staff if you are concerned that a particular client may have difficulty accessing rebates for the services provided by their psychologist

Triage

We are happy for you to refer to individual psychologists within the practice.  If you would like to read more about any of our psychologists, check out our "Meet the team" page to find their individual areas or interest and expertise. Alternatively, use our Referral Tool.

We also accept practice referrals.  These referrals should be addressed to "The Psychologist" at our address in order to be valid for MBS auditing purposes.  Our team will assess these referrals to try and ensure that they end up being seen by the psychologist who is most appropriate.  Please give as much information about presenting concerns as possible to assist with this process.  Also please note any client preferences e.g.: female psychologist only.

Review

At the completion of each block of sessions, the psychologist is required to write back to you to report on progress.  One of the differentiating features of Benchmark psychologists, is that these review letters will nearly always include a graph or some other form of objective data reporting if the client is improving, not improving, or deteriorating.

Communication

Referrers are encouraged to contact our psychologists by phone or email.  We believe that team based treatment is the most effective when it comes to treating the complexities of psychological problems.
