Biography – Anna Stathis

Anna is a Psychologist and Clinical Psychology Registrar having completed a Master of Clinical Psychology at The University of Queensland. She has experience in community mental health, psychiatric hospital, university, and research settings. She has worked with clients across the lifespan presenting with a range of challenges including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, stress, emotional dysregulation, low self-esteem, interpersonal difficulties, trauma, grief and loss, chronic health conditions, and life transitions and adjustment.

Anna has a particular interest in working with adults and older adolescents, and in treating anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive and related disorders, mood disorders, trauma- and stressor-related disorders, and personality disorders. Her therapeutic approach is compassionate, authentic, and collaborative. She draws on evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). She applies interventions and introduces strategies from these therapies as appropriate to individual treatment needs and goals.

Anna is an accredited provider of Triple P – Positive Parenting Programs including Level 4 (Standard, Group, and Group Stepping Stones) and Level 5 (Enhanced). She is also a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), APS College of Clinical Psychologists, Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA), and Australian Association for Cognitive and Behaviour Therapy (AACBT).
